  Sing, O Daugher of Zion

  Cameron Joel Rose (2003)
Text from Zephaniah and Isaiah
SATB, piano/organ

  Premiered by the American West Symphony Chorus

Sing, sing O daughter of Zion;
Shout, shout O Israel; and rejoice and be glad and sing,
      O daughter of Jerusalem...
Eye to eye, the Lord shall bring again Zion;
When the Lord maketh bare his arm for all nations;
And all the earth shall see the salvation of God.

Once forsaken, the Lord yet remembers and redeems his covenant people. Is this not reason to "Sing," and "shout O Israel... O daugher of Jerusalem"? A serious recital work befitting this hearty text, Sing, O Daughter captures both the prophetic weightiness and exuberant rejoicing of these Old Testament passagaes through rich harmonies, propelling rhythms, and dynamic text setting. New in serious choral repertoire, Sing, O Daughter is a work worthy of your and your audience's attention. (Catalogue: PM2002)
