And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people.

In the faith of Latter-day Saints, the gospel and church as once existed in Christ's day, have been restored in their fulness to the earth, literally by angelic dispensation. The words of this hymn proclaim that through "the mighty angel flying," the ancient faith has returned, and invite all to "hasten to receive the gospel And obey the words of life." Those who do so will not be moved when danger and distress encircle them about, rather, they "with all the Saints of Zion, Shall enjoy eternal rest." This new setting of the hymn brings the majesty of the restoration message to the fore, using trumpet-call accompaniment figures, as well as the intimation of the gospel marching forward through the rolled "trums" of a snare in the lower bass.
