Based on Vaughan Wlliams' hymn tune, Kingsfold, this setting of If You Could Hie portrays anew the reverent majesty of God, his attributes, and his countless creations. As His works unfold without number, so also this well-known melody continously develops, from a unison a capella "oo", to a full, rich four-part texture. Retaining its stately English origins, as well as supplying fresh and beautiful countermelody in both accompaniment and choral parts throughout, this arrangement is written to be successful with both experienced and less-experienced men's ensembles, and with limited rehearsal time.
